Shadowboxing

Boxers have used shadow boxing since 1892 to warm-up and prepare before engaging in other boxing training, drills, exercises and routines. The purpose of shadow boxing, apart from getting the muscles ready for boxing, is to build a fighter's rhythm and work on all punches and combinations, plus footwork, to prepare the mind and body for training and competition. Fighters use shadow boxing to work on different opponent styles for preparation for every type of opposition.
